Plasan unveils its latest defence solutions at ExpoDefensa 2017

Israeli armoured vehicle specialist Plasan has unveiled its latest defence solutions at the International Defense and Security exhibition, ExpoDefensa 2017 in Bogota Colombia.

Plasan is a developer and provider of vehicle-borne solutions for the defense market, which include state-of-the-art technological systems and modules that significantly upgrade the vehicle’s operational capabilities.

During the ExpoDefensa 2017 was unveiled the Plasan SandCat Stormer tactical armoured vehicle. The vehicle based on commercial Ford F550 Super Duty chassis with an energy-efficient V8 6.7L turbo diesel engine.

Based on decades of battle-proven armor development, the SandCats advanced lightweight composite armor provides up to STANAG Level 3 protection without adding to the vehicle’s GVW or compromising its outstanding performance. This includes B6/B7 protection + AK47 7.62×39 AP + Dragunov 7.62×54 AP, a floor protected against two DM51 hand grenades, and more.

According to the company, combining maximum survivability, crew protection and vehicle availability, the SandCat incorporates decades of armored vehicle design, simulation, development, testing and production expertise, honed to perfection on the creation of more than 30,000 armor solutions for vehicles worldwide.

Also was unveiled the FlexFence passive RPG-7 defeat armor. FlexFence provides the highest performance of any RPG protection product in the market today, with higher performance than other existing technologies.

  • Can neutralize up to 6 rockets/m2
  • A continous grid design assures defeat effectiveness even at modules edge

The system successfully completed a serious of durability tests on road and at sea conditions.

During exhibition was showcased the Plasans’s Terra energy attenuating seats.
